Rader Body Shop, Inc is located in Stilesville, Indiana. Owned and operated by two brothers, Rader Body Shop has always been a family owned business. In 1954 Edwin "Ed" Rader purchased Maynard Robinson's Body Shop building and started his own auto body repair business.
Ed made a living repairing and painting cars until his retirement in the late 80's. Always interested in a challenge, he worked on several Indianapolis 500 cars of Lloyd Ruby, a famous Indy 500 driver. He restored cars for Karl Kizer, who was the first curator of the Indianapolis 500 Museum. The cars Ed rebuilt can still be seen in the Indianapolis 500 Museum today.
The talent and artistic ability it takes to restore an automobile to pristine condition was evident in Ed's two sons, Chris and Troy Rader. In 1977, Chris came to work at Rader Body Shop then in 1980, Troy came to work along side his Dad and brother. The three worked together until Ed's retirement in 1987 when Chris and Troy took ownership of Rader Body Shop and the day-to-day operation of the company.
Although much has changed in the process of repairing cars since the early days of 1954, the quality work of Rader Body Shop has not. Ed instilled in his sons "A job not done right, isn't worth doing, so always do your best". Rader Body Shop, Inc. lives up to their high quality reputation.
"The sense of accomplishment to be able to restore a car to pre-accident condition is what still drives us today." Troy Rader, Owner.
